Graduate
students
represent
the future of educational research, evaluation,
policy, and leadership in California. Therefore, CERA is launching an
initiative to increase graduate student membership and to offer
additional opportunities for graduate student participation.
We are kicking off this program with
some exciting new opportunities for students currently enrolled in
graduate programs throughout the state.
(NEW) Graduate Study
Poster Session in the 2010 Annual Conference in San Diego: CERA
encourages submission of Graduate Study Poster Session proposals for
the upcoming conference, whose theme is "Instructional Innovation for
the Next Decade." The graduate study materials must have been completed
while enrolled as a graduate student in a California college or
university. Participants will present their papers in a 90-minute
poster format during the conference. The Poster Session will provide
opportunities for individualized, informal discussion of student
research and socializing with conference attendees. Your participation
will help to increase awareness of graduate student contributions to
the field of education. Proposals are due September 17, 2010. More
information about the Conference is available on the Upcoming Events Web page.
(NEW) Graduate
Student Outstanding Paper Award: CERA invites graduate student
authors of original, unpublished articles to submit their papers by
September 17, 2010 to be considered for the Graduate Student
Outstanding Paper. More information is available in the 2010
Graduate
Student
Outstanding Paper Award.
Newsletter: CERA welcomes graduate student contributions to its
semi-annual newsletter. Please contact Dr. Kate Esposito, California
State University Dominguez Hills, if you are interested in submitting
an article about educational research, evaluation, or assessment for
the Fall 2010 issue.
Membership: By
becoming
a
member, you have all the rights and
responsibilities, including those of voting, receipt of newsletters and
notices, and access to the
membership database for personal networking with othergraduate
students, researchers, and educational professionals in California.
Registration for the annual conference includes membership, and
registration is available at a reduced cost for full-time students. The
cost of membership without registration for the conference is $35. For
more information about joining CERA, please visit the Membership Web page.
